Shape & Size:
To order a custom made spa cover, Please identify from the shapes below and measure as per the instructions.

Which matches your existing lid?
Please confirm the lid shape, colour and then fill in the measurements on the form below.
NB: It is always best to round up your lid dimensions to the nearest half inch. It is better to make the lid slightly bigger than making it too small!
Covers greater than 95" will be subject to an individual quote for pricing. Please call us.
Hot tub Cover Shapes
-Take care when measuring the lid so that the hinge is folding the lid in the correct direction. On standard lid shapes the hinge (B) will always split the longest dimension (A) unless otherwise specified.
Never measure the exact hinge as this is typically 1 inch smaller than the actual lid size.

Cover Thickness:

Most other hot tub covers offer just one choice of insulating foam cores. But one solution does not suit all applications.
So we offer FOUR grades of cover so you can choose to invest in additional insulation which will save you money in running costs!

The foam cores in our custom made Covers are made from virgin materials, not re-formed or recycled which frequently contain impurities and are of a lesser density than virgin foam.

The Corner radius:
Many spa covers have rounded corners. In order for us to make you a cover, we must know how rounded they are.  This is determined by figuring out their radius dimension.

-The diameter of a circle is the measurement across the center.
-The radius of a circle is half of its diameter. Very simple.
Method 1:
To determine the radius of your cover's corners, take a sheet a paper and trace around one of the curved corners of the cover.  You will get a curved line.  Remove the paper and complete the circle.  You can do this freehand, and it doesn't have to look too pretty!  Just try to get it pretty close.  Then measure across the middle of the circle you drew, and divide by 2. That is the radius of you cover's corners.

Method 2:
Another way to measure the radius is by placing a carpenter's square on the outside corner of you spa.  The distance between the corner of the carpenter's square and the place where it touches the spa (A) equals the radius of the curve (B).

For example, take a look at the diagram here which shows the spa touching the carpenter's square at  6 1/2 inches.  If you ordered a 6 1/2 inch radius cover, the cover would either be a little too small, or fit very snuggly.  If you ordered it as a 6 inch radius, it would be a little bit bigger, the skirt will hang down nicely, and you would not have to struggle to get the cover on.  You can't go wrong with the cover being a little bit bigger (smaller radius measurement).

Hot tub Cover Radius Measure
Remember, if you are a little too big, the cover will still fit (and work) fine.  However if you are even the slightest bit too small, the cover will not sit properly on the spa.  If you have to guess one way or the other, go bigger (order the cover a little bigger...order with a smaller radius).  The smaller the radius measurement, the 'bigger' the cover will be (more material).  The larger the radius, the more the cover will be "cut off" (less material).

The Cover skirt:
The skirt of a cover is another of the many important parts. It needs to properly protect the lip of your spa from the damaging rays of the sun, and be strong enough to use for lifting your cover. Our Covers skirts are double stitched into the cover for strength, and gusseted to provide the best protection!

One piece continuous skirts, which are easier to manufacture, have many inherent problems when compared to skirts that are gusseted (also called "slitted"). Gusseted skirts will hang much straighter and have less tendency to bunch-up under the cover, preventing a proper seal between the cover and the spa. The skirts are double sewn into the cover for extra strength and strong enough to lift even the heaviest of covers.
This should always hang STRAIGHT DOWN. So, if the lip of the spa is at an angle, make sure you measure the cover long enough to achieve this. You don't want the skirt sticking out by measuring your cover too short. Also, if you wish you can measure the skirt long enough to cover the spa lip, or the spa cabinet rim; If you measure the existing skirt this will ultimately be fine.

Strap Length:
Each cover comes standard with four tie-down straps equipped with locking child resistant safety latches. To assure the integrity and prevent the straps from ripping out (perhaps from high winds), the straps are sewn into the cover in four places, including the skirt. This makes them virtually tear-proof. Besides aiding in keeping out unwanted visitors, the tie-downs, when properly used help to prevent strong winds from blowing off the cover. There is also the option of additional tie-downs. The "locking latches" are moulded after the quick release buckles found on sports equipment and have been specifically designed for spas! Each NMF Fastener may be locked down individually. They are quickly installed with three stainless steel screws (provided).Standard Strap length is 8 Inches.
Extra charges may apply if straps required are longer than 8 inches.

Our polyester re-inforced backing does not soak up water and is highly resistant to mildew and rot. Some cover manufacturers use cheap furniture vinyl with an absorbent cotton backing, and pass it off as 'Marine-Grade'. These Covers are manufactured from heavy weight (30oz) true marine grade vinyl, treated with UV protection and mildew inhibitors.
With the entire cover being stitched together, the thread is also an important aspect to consider (some cover manufacturers heat seal thier vinyl together, but the seams tend to become very brittle in the hot sun and freezing cold). The thread used in our covers is a No.93, UV resistant, bonded, Dacron Polyester thread. The polyester part is what is important, unlike cotton thread it won't rot in a short period of time, and the UV resistance prevents any degradation from the sun. "Bonded" means that it's actually water tight and can't absorb mildew causing moisture. The No.93 is the weight of the thread and the entire cover is double stitched (except for the hinge which is quadruple stitched).
