The maintenance of any Spa is very easy... If done as part of a routine from day one, managing your water and filters properly will help to prevent equipment problems occurring in the future. -It is worth noting that some hot tub manufacturers will refuse to carry out warranty work if they can prove that problems have been caused due to neglected water care. For your safety and the well being of your spa, you do need to keep your spa water well balanced and sanitized with either
Chlorine or Bromine, or an ECO alternative regardless of having a
filtration system. Just follow this simple routine: Once a week... Remove filter, rinse and allow to dry over night (exchange with extra if possible) every week for three weeks. On week 4, soak overnight in a Filter cleaning solution then rinse thoroughly. Allow to dry. Three times a week… (or more frequently depending on usage) Test and adjust Total Alkalinity, pH and Chlorine/Bromine Levels. For peace of mind, a water test will show up any problems that may have gone unnoticed. Early diagnosis can prevent more serious problems later on and suitable chemicals can be suggested early to reverse the water inaccuracy. Ideal ranges Chlorine / Bromine 1 - 3ppm pH 7.2 – 7.6 Total Alkalinity 80 – 160ppm Every 2/3 weeks… Add a one shock Every 3 months… (Regardless of Spa use) Empty, clean and refill spa with fresh water. |
